"LET'S GO FOR IT AGAIN. LET'S GO FOR IT AGAIN, " stated Kobe Bryant after winning the NBA basketball championship 83-79 against the Boston Celtics, Thursday, June 17, 2010, in Los Angeles, Ca.. Kobe was excited to be in the elite Lakers "5-finger ring" club that only consists of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Michael Cooper, Derek Fisher & coachPhil Jackson.
And if you're wondering about Michael Jordan... he won 6
NBA Championships during his NBA career & so he has 6 rings, all with the Chicago Bulls.
This ring is a part of Lakers history. When you think of the names that have stood below those championship banners – Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, Pau Gasol, Jerry West, Kobe Bryant, James Worthy, Magic Johnson, and my dear friend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, you get a sense of the legacy of one of the NBA’s most storied franchises. This ring commemorates one of the greatest chapters of that story, designed and given by one of the world’s great champions.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar ended up with a storied career – 6 championships, 6 regular season MVP awards, 3 NCAA Championships, and the highest career point total in NBA history (38,387). A 19-time all star in his 21 seasons, Kareem was one of the greatest to ever step on the court, and this ring is an enduring part of that legacy.
I am extremely fortunate to own this rare piece of history -- a 1987 LAKERS CHAMPIONSHIP "5-FINGER RING" in which Kareem Abdul-Jabbar gave to me after his dominate win over the BOSTON CELTICS. This is 1 of 2 rings that Kareem custom designed for that memorable occasion -- one for himself and one for me! I was delighted to receive this one-of-a-kind Laker Championship Ring. Also, it was the same year in which I sat in a chair on the Lakers wooden floor next to Jack Nicholson to watch each game "up close & personal." I will forever cherish those awesome memories! It's as good as it gets!
VENUS is on one side w/ the years 72-80-82-85
On the other side, DRIVE FOR FIVE w/ Los Angeles Lakers logo. Under that is: LA 4 -- BOS 2
In the center are 5 diamonds over 1 k . It is a size 5 1/2 -- (The
ring is 100% guaranteed authentic. Documentation will be provided!)
* Many people have asked why I am selling this priceless treasure. I have been helping a young man with his S.F. University studies and he has expressed the desire to pursue his Masters degree. The sell of this ring will go towards his higher education. Kareem & I will be so proud when he accomplishes his educational destiny.
This most gorgeous, original, one-of-a-kind photo of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was taken by the masterful photographer & friend, Ken Marcus. Ken made only 3 photo's -- one for himself, one for Kareem and one for me, Brenda Venus... It is the only photo that both Ken Marcus & Kareem have signed. That's what makes it even more special. It is like an exquisite sculpture of a Divine MAN! The man happens to be Kareem.
Being a ballerina since age 3, I truly admired the seemingly effortless grace & beauty with which Kareem played his game... One hot, summer day in LA day, I drove Kareem over to Ken Marcus' studio in Hollywood, and asked him to take an artistic photo w/ Kareem in a familiar basketball stance. We shot for hours, and in the end, Ken had captured the most stunningly beautiful photo of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar that I have ever seen!!
The inscription reads: "BRENDA DEAREST"
BRENDA, I HOPE THIS LIVES UP TO YOUR STANDARDS. THEY, LIKE YOU, ARE THE VERY BEST! KAREEM 4/94
After the last playoff season of his career, Kareem brought me the shoes he wore in one of the playoff's. He signed them for posterity. It's very intimate to own a pair of the great man's basketball playoff shoes...!
Fun in the Sun with long-time great friend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the back of his yacht. It was a perfect day!!

Kareem & I are having dinner at Wolfgang Puck's "Spago" in Beverly Hills. It's one of our all-time favorite restaurants & Wolfgang treats us so well. We were waiting for our surprise dessert w/ great anticipation!

Kareem and I are posing for a photo shoot by famous photographer, Martin.
